A Summerfield, FL, man has been arrested in Wesley Chapel on charges of child pornography.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), Samuel Irvin, 61, of Summerfield, was arrested on April 17 and charged with seven counts of possession of child pornography. Pasco deputies took Irvin into custody at The Grove at Wesley Chapel shopping center while serving a warrant for his arrest from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO). He was identified by his driver’s license, the PCSO report says.

Published reports state that, on April 11, MCSO executed a warrant and took a computer hard drive from Irvin. When it was searched on April 16, more than 90 images were found in emails depicting underage girls engaged in sexual acts. Irvin, described in reports as a well-known businessman in the Summerfield area, had sent the illegal files from his work email address.

A news release from MCSO says that Irvin is being held in the Marion County Jail in Ocala on a $290,000 bond, facing 29 counts of child pornography and transmission of child pornography for the files that were discovered on his computer’s hard drive.
