New Principals At Sand Pine, WRH Prep For 2013-14 School Year

With the 2013-14 school year set to begin in Pasco County on August 19, Sand Pine Elementary (SPE) and Wiregrass Ranch High (WRH) will both have new principals.

At SPE in Meadow Pointe, Scott Atkins, a previous assistant principal at nearby Double Branch Elementary (also in Meadow Pointe), has taken over for former principal Todd Cluff.

“I’m really excited for the new school year,” Atkins says. “I’ve only been in the building for two weeks (at our press time), but the staff is fantastic.”Continue reading

Nearly 800 Graduate From Wesley Chapel & Wiregrass Ranch High!

Congratulations to the Class of 2013 at Wesley Chapel High (WCH) and Wiregrass Ranch High (WRH).

On the evening of May 31, at the newly renovated University of South Florida Sun Dome, 336 Wildcat seniors crossed the stage to become high school graduates.

“(Graduating) is a pretty huge change,” said WCH valedictorian Michael Giannazzo (4.62 weighted GPA), who will attend the Ivy League Brown University. “There’s going to be a transition period. But, just like any good book, you have to give it a chance.”

WRH’s Paula Berry & Long MS’s Darcy Creek Named ‘Teacher’ Finalists!

The Pasco School District’s 2013 “Teacher of the Year” will be named at the “Heart & Soul of Pasco County” ceremony on Saturday, February 9. The annual celebration, put on by the Pasco County Education Foundation, Inc., is being held this year at Wesley Chapel, where Wesley Chapel schools lead the pack with two of the three Teacher of the Year finalists representing Wesley Chapel-area schools.Continue reading
