New Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel (FHWC) CEO Denyse Bales-Chubb (photo, right) gave a presentation at the April 7 Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce (WCCC) monthly business breakfast at the Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch off Mansfield Blvd. in Wesley Chapel.
Bales-Chubb detailed FHWC’s upcoming $78-million expansion that will add nearly 112,000 sq. ft. of new construction, as well as nearly 11,000 sq. ft. of renovated space to the hospital. The expansion will add more patient beds, emergency rooms, labs, pre-operation, recovery and observation rooms. Construction is expected to start in August.

Following the breakfast, PHSC celebrated the opening of its on-campus cafe (photo below), which is run by A Dash of Salt & Pepper’s Ghada Jadallah and her husband Lutfi. A Dash of Salt & Pepper also has a location on Cross Creek Blvd. here in New Tampa.
“When we first opened, this was an incredibly important part of our conceptual plan because we wanted to make sure that staff, faculty and students have first-rate, world-class cuisine in between their studies,” said PHSC Porter Campus provost and Wesley Chapel Honorary Mayor Dr. Stanley Giannett. “We chose what we thought is the best.”
“It’s an honor to be here at PHSC,” said Ghada. The café serves sandwiches, salads, baked goods and coffee, as well as other offerings.
