An early morning crash on County Line Rd. has left two men seriously injured and closed the road for nearly three hours.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), at 6:44 a.m. on August 21, Jonathan Atramgarza, 20, of Tampa, was driving his 2004 Dodge Stratus westbound on County Line Rd., just east of Cypress Creek Rd.

At the same time, 43-year-old Steve Falcon, of Lutz, was traveling eastbound on County Line Rd. in his 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe.

FHP reports that Atramgarza lost control of his vehicle and entered the northbound shoulder. When he overcorrected, he crossed back over County Line Rd. and hit Falcon’s vehicle. Atramgarza’s car rotated clockwise and came to rest in the westbound lane.

The collision caused Falcon’s vehicle to spin clockwise and enter the southern shoulder and flipped into the ditch next to the road.

FHP reports that both drivers were airlifted to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa with serious injuries. Seatbelts were worn and alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor in the crash, which closed County Line Rd. until 9:30 a.m.
