The Tampa Police Department (TPD) has released the name of the victim in this morning’s fatal shooting in Tampa Palms.
TPD reports that 39-year-old Alfred Lester, of Tampa Palms, died of a gunshot wound, after an altercation with Orin Bivens, 48, of Tampa, turned violent around 9 a.m. in the breezeway of Building 12 in the Grand Reserve apartment complex, located off Tampa Palms Blvd.
A neighbor, who was inside her apartment across the parking lot at the time of the shooting, said that she heard five gunshots and that the suspect told witnesses to call the police, after which he was detained.
TPD reports that there was a child in the victim’s apartment at the time, but that no one else was injured.
