Many movies and TV shows have depicted women stampeding over each other trying to find a wedding dress at a bridal warehouse sale. Don’t suffer through that kind of experience when you can relax and actually enjoy the process of finding your perfect dress at The Bridal Showroom. This new boutique just opened in the Renaissance Professional Park next to Bright Horizons at Seven Oaks, off Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd. (between Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel and S.R. 54).
The Bridal Showroom offers a wide variety of wedding dresses, tuxedo rentals, bridesmaids’ dresses, bridal accessories and prom and Quinceanera dresses (the Latin American celebration for girls turning 15).
Owner Heidi Sulpher opened the shop in April of this year. “I chose the Wesley Chapel location because I wanted The Bridal Showroom to have a more private feel, instead of a big retailer look,” she says — and she definitely succeeded. When you walk through the door, you feel like you’re in a private showroom and know right away that you’re going to receive excellent customer service. “I love what I do,” Sulpher explains, “and I want to make everyone who comes here feel special.”
Sulpher has more than 20 years of experience in the bridal industry. Her mother owned a bridal store and Sulpher started helping when she was only 14. She says she later became a sales representative for a variety of bridal lines spanning a ten-year period. This year she decided to make a change and, using her vast knowledge of the industry, opened her own shop.
‘Private Label’ Wedding Dresses
“What makes The Bridal Showroom so unique is that we only offer Private Label wedding dresses,” Sulpher says, noting that all of the dresses are from nationally recognized designers and made exclusively for bridal shop boutiques. While they may be from top brands, the designers’ names don’t even appear on the dresses. Sulpher says her dresses aren’t widely promoted to the public and, while some are shown in bridal magazines, many can only be found at a few boutique stores across the country. That means brides are able to find that one-of-a kind dress without the worry that ten other women will have the same one.
With more than 150 different wedding dresses to choose from, you’re sure to find “the” dress for your big day. Sulpher says the 2015 lines have just arrived, so now is a great time to stop in. You can choose from a wide variety of colors, from traditional white, off-white, cream and champagne to more exotic colors like red and even navy blue. There also are many cuts offered (including mermaid, princess, empire, sheath and ball gown), as well as a range of necklines (including sweetheart, v-neck, sheer, scoop and more).
And, to make sure your dress fits like a glove, The Bridal Showroom will schedule all the necessary fittings to make that possible. Sulpher doesn’t have a seamstress on staff, but works with an independent one who will come in, if necessary, to help fit a client’s dress.
“Leave me for last,” Sulpher tells future brides who are just beginning their wedding planning, “because you’re definitely going to find a dress here.” Another benefit of shopping at The Bridal Showroom is that you can customize your wedding dress. For example, if you find a style you like but you’d rather have sleeves added or a different neckline, Sulpher can order the dress just the way you want it.
Wesley Chapel bride-to-be Jessica Tricoche says she was a little intimidated the first time she walked into The Bridal Showroom. Because of the upscale feel she says, “I thought the dresses would be too expensive. But, Heidi was so nice when greeting me and asking what I was looking for that I decided to look around.” Tricoche says she was excited when she saw the range of affordable prices. “What I liked best is that Heidi first told me about the sale items and didn’t try to upsell me right off the bat.”
Tricoche says she ended up trying on 10-15 dresses and appreciated how patient Heidi was during the process. “I ended up staying until 8:30 that night — two and a half hours past closing time.” Heidi gave Tricoche the full-service treatment, taking pictures of her in each dress and letting her try on a variety of veils and headpieces.
Tricoche is excited to walk down the aisle in March 2015 with the dress she chose from The Bridal Showroom — a private label ball gown-style dress.
Not Just Wedding Dresses!
Getting ready for your wedding day isn’t only about buying the dress. There are numerous bridal accessories that need to be purchased as well. The Bridal Showroom has lovely, delicate veils of all lengths, as well as stockings and garters. And, picking the right jewelry can make all the difference in the wedding look. Whether you choose to wear a beautiful tiara or a stunning necklace, the shop can provide you with just the right sparkle to spruce up your look.
Seven Oaks resident Jennifer Luebers says she had visited several bridal shops in search of a dress for her wedding this past October.
“Once I told them (the other boutiques) my budget, they left me alone in the back of the store looking through the sales rack,” Luebers explains, adding that her experience at The Bridal Showroom was completely different. “Heidi was amazing. She carved out an appointment time just for me and was completely focused on helping me find the perfect dress.”
Luebers also says she appreciated how Heidi assisted her with trying on each dress. With numerous snaps and buttons, many wedding dresses can be tricky to put on properly. When Luebers fell in love with a mermaid-style dress, she was worried it wouldn’t be in her price range, but when she read the tag, it was much less than the amount she’d budgeted.
“There were tears in my eyes,” Luebers says. “It was the perfect moment.”
Sulpher adds that dresses at The Bridal Showroom range from as low as $400-$2,800.
The Bridal Showroom has been stocking dresses for prom since Since the beginning of November. Sulpher says that you will find dresses in her boutique that no other shops in the immediate area offer. Sulpher says she believes, “Every dress — bridal, prom or Quinceanera — should have an element of uniqueness.” In fact, Sulpher says she stocks Quinceanera dresses all year long. She’s fluent in Spanish and can help every girl find the dress that will make her feel like a “Princesa.”
50% Off Sale This Month!
Sulpher knows how costly planning a wedding can be and to help your pocketbook, she’s running a “Black Friday” sale of 50-percent-off select dresses. But, she wants to be true to her mission of giving every bride-to-be a special day picking out her wedding dress. So, to avoid overcrowding, Sulpher is extending her sale through the entire month of November. And, if you don’t find that perfect dress on her sales racks, she’ll still give you 20-percent-off any other bridal dress in November.
Sulpher says that brides-to-be can pop in anytime, Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., but she’s also happy to schedule appointments after hours or on weekends, if you call 357-4994.
