The clichรฉ of going to meet the girlfriendโs father, only to find him sitting at the kitchen table cleaning a gun, has been turned on its head in Wesley Chapel.
According to the Pasco County Sheriffโs Office (PCSO), on July 7, Matthew Allen Wilson, Jr., 21, of New Tampa, was house- and dog-sitting for his girlfriendโs family in Meadow Pointe while the family was out of town. While at the residence, Wilson allegedly stole seven firearms, which are valued at a total of $6,700.
The report states that in an interview following his arrest on July 16, Wilson admitted to stealing the firearms, but had made arrangements prior to his arrest to return the firearms through his girlfriend. PCSO reports that all but one of the firearms have been recovered.
Wilson was arrested and charged with grand theft of a firearm. At our press time, he remains in custody on a $5,000 bond. No further information was available at our press time.
