A description has been released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), which needs the public’s help identifying two attempted murder suspects for a crime that took place just south of the New Tampa area.
According to HCSO, on March 27, two black male suspects, both about 6 feet tall with medium builds and between the ages of 18-24, forced their way into an apartment at the 40-Fifty Lofts student apartment complex, located off N. 46th St. at 3950 Rocky Cir., between Bruce. B Downs (BBD) Blvd. and E. Fletcher Ave.
Once inside the apartment, the HCSO report says, one of the suspects pointed a black handgun at the victim —whose name (and gender) had not been released at our press time — and demanded the victim’s property, before ordering the victim to lie on the ground. Then, using a large knife, the suspect cut a five-inch laceration into the victim’s throat.
After removing all valuables from the victim, the two suspects began to stomp on the victim’s head. The victim attempted to block the attack, but was stabbed in the chest. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
HCSO says that the suspects fled on foot, heading west from the apartment complex. When last spotted, one of the suspects was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, a baseball cap and sunglasses and carrying a black backpack. The other suspect was wearing dark jeans, a white shirt, a black vest and sunglasses.
