Despite talk of bids going out for the widening of the next segment of Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd.—the project to widen the stretch of busy roadway through Tampa Palms from Bearss. Ave. to Palms Springs Blvd.—has hit a major snag.

According to Hillsborough County officials, who wished to remain anonymous because they were not authorized to speak about the halted project, the next phase of construction has hit a major roadblock.

In fact, the road construction that was to alleviate the traffic troubles in New Tampa is canceled for the time being, and the bidding process for estimates from contractors has been indefinitely suspended. All current construction projects will lay as is until the issue is resolved, but there is no estimated timeframe for any sort of construction continuation.
