Our area has always been known for its beautiful homes and manicured lawns in pristine master-planned communities, but now that so much of our community is aging and the real estate market still isn’t what it was a few years ago, you may be thinking about making some improvements to either increase your home’s retail value, make it more livable for your family, or both.

Tampa Palms resident Hui You, the co-owner of Cabinet & Stone International on N. 56th St. in Temple Terrace (across from King High, only 25-30 minutes from most of Wesley Chapel), says that if your kitchen and/or bathrooms are in need of a facelift, visit Cabinet & Stone BEFORE you go to either of the home improvement warehouses in our area.

“There are many differences between us and other places,” she says. “We’re specialists in this business. You’ll never receive the type of personalized attention someplace else you will here. We offer the fastest turnaround times anywhere because we keep everything in stock right here and even our prices are better.” She adds, in fact, that you can, in many cases, complete your kitchen in one week or less!

She adds that a lot of people, at first, don’t believe that the prices for Cabinet & Stone’s all-wood (no particle board) cabinets and granite and other natural stone countertops could possibly be cheaper than comparable choices at the supposed “superstores.” That is, until they compare price — and everything else — themselves.

“We initially chose Cabinet & Stone because of price,” says Denise, a Tampa Palms resident. “But, everyone there is very attentive, very responsive and all of the work was done in a timely manner. And, when you call them, you can always speak to someone who knows who you are.” She adds, “I have more work that needs to be done in my home and yes, I will be using Cabinet & Stone again.”

Hui and her husband and partner opened their original Cabinet & Stone showroom on Hillsborough Ave. eight years ago, although the family also was involved in the same type of business in Miami for several years before then and was even involved in the woodworking business in their native China. The 30,000-sq.-ft. Temple Terrace location, which opened in 2007, stocks more than 200 colors and styles of countertops, “and we usually have many selections you won’t find anywhere else,” Hui says. “We offer wholesale pricing to the public.” In fact, a local contractor was placing yet another order at Cabinet & Stone the day I visited.

Hui says that Cabinet & Stone uses C&S Custom Cabinets, which offer a wide array of colors and styles in all-wood cabinets that are lined with real plywood boxes. “It’s a high-quality product,” she says. Cabinet & Stone also has top-quality Teka stainless steel and other sinks and a variety of stylish faucets in stock.

“We can provide a custom look for your kitchen at pre-made cabinet prices and we usually offer a free in-home consultation to Tampa Palms and most of New Tampa,” Hui says. “Every customer is different. Some want to do full kitchen remodels… others just want to change their cabinets or countertops. We are happy to assist you with all of your needs.”

All I can add is that the showroom is beautiful, the place is closer than you thinkand the always-friendly staff definitely will treat you the way you expect and deserve to be treated.
