The New Tampa Chamber of Commerce was honored to host Hillsborough County Commissioner Victor Crist at its montly luncheon in June. Speaking on “Innovation Destination: A new economic district for north east Hillsborough County” (see the story on page 10 for more info), Crist detailed plans to revive local neighborhoods, including the creation of an economic development district between the east-west boundaries of Interstates 275 and 75 and from Sligh Ave. running north to New Tampa.

In addition, on July 2, the Chamber joined the New Tampa Neighborhood News (photo) at a sampling of the all-new menu at the all-new Full Circle Pizza & Grill, which is located in the Pebble Creek Collection on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., in the same location as the former Circles New Tampa Bistro. Virtually everything on owner Ron Chase’s menu was sampled — from Full Circle’s delicious, brick-oven thin-crust pizzas to his awesome Chicago beef sandwiches and even shrimp fettuccine pasta. Please check out on the full story on page 42 of this issue, go visit Full Circle and tell Ron the Chamber and the Neighborhood News sent you.

This month, Chamber members are looking forward to hearing Wharton High assistant principal Kevin Stevenson, share on team building and how Wharton won Best in Hillsborough County for its PTSA and recognition of the school’s principal, Bradley Woods, as Hillsborough High School Principal of the Year — for the second year in a row! Join us on Monday, July 16, 11:30 a.m., at Pebble Creek Golf Club (10550 Regents Park Dr., across from the Walmart Supercenter on BBD). Open to members and non-members. Register online at NewTampaChamber.org/events.php.

Open Chamber Positions

Board positions and Ambassador committee memberships are still available. Please submit your request to info@NewTampaChamber.org for more information or an application form. It is through the support of volunteers such as these who dedicate their time to the organization that we are able to continue to strengthen the Chamber, and to develop new and innovative projects to serve our members and the New Tampa community.
