Charges have been dropped against two men who, along with a third suspect, were accused of stealing a car in Wesley Chapel before setting it aflame and abandoning it in a wooded area in Hillsborough County.

According to the Pasco County Clerk of Circuit Court website, grand theft auto charges have been dropped against 20-year-old Blake Butler, of Zephyrhills, and 20-year-old Stephen John Shea, of Wesley Chapel.

PCSO deputies arrested the two men in connection to a Chevrolet Lumina that was discovered burned in a wooded area of Hillsborough County. The vehicle was reported stolen from Meadow Pointe on Sept. 24.

Butler and Shea were each originally released on a $5,000 bond. The third suspect, however — 21-year-old Taylor Hodge of Brooksville, was still being held at our press time at the Land O’ Lakes Detention Center on a $22,450 bond for attempted auto burglary, grand theft auto, being a felon in possession of ammunition, resisting arrest without violence, possession of marijuana and illegal possession of a controlled substance
