There is no freedom in sight for Jared Cano, the former Freeedom High accused of attempting to build and discharge a bomb at his former school, after a Hillsborough County judge upheld the charges against him on August 20.

Cano’s attorney, Norman Cannella, brought a motion before Hillsborough Circuit Judge Kimberly Fernandez to dismiss the case on the grounds that Cano, now 18, was not actually capable of making a bomb from the materials Tampa Police Department (TPD) officers found in his mother’s apartment in August 2011, at what is now called The Landmark at Grayson Park (formerly known as Cypress Run at Tampa Palms) apartments.
