The business beat not only goes on in New Tampa, it actually seems to be heating up, with new businesses suddenly snatching up familiar locations. Here’s a few quick updates for you.

Tampa Palms – In the Lifestyle Fitness-anchored Shoppes of Amberly plaza, Fushia Asian Bistro is expanding into the old Kidz Club location with a new Chinese concept featuring roving dim sum appetizer carts. In the World of Beer-anchored Shoppes at the Pointe, a new Japanese steak house (we don’t know the name yet) is coming to the old Panda Buffet location. In the same plaza, the Palmside Barbershop is under new ownership.

Highwoods Preserve – Meanwhile, up in the Highwoods Preserve area, the Lange Eye Institute is getting ready to open next to the new Sushi Café, near Panera Bread.

New Tampa Center – In this Publix-anchored plaza located across Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd. from Hunter’s Green, the Sports Tyme sports bar, jazz club and hookah lounge may be open in the former Excalibur location next to Pizza Hut by the time you receive this. The same owners apparently plan to open a video arcade somewhere in the Pebble Creek Collection on the other side of BBD, too.

Cross Creek Center – The new Y Nails is now open next to The Flower Co. and a new pizza place is set to open in the former Urban Culinary Café space in the same plaza.
