Jobs Filling Up At WC’s New Economic Engine!

By Matt Wiley

After years of planning and construction, the brand new Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel (FHWC) on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., just north of the Shops at Wiregrass mall, is finally gearing up for its public Grand Opening, and is in the process of filling hundreds of additional positions before the hospital begins to see patients in October.

According to a press release from the hospital, the “Community Grand Opening” will be held on Sunday, September 16, at 1 p.m. The event will be free, open to the public and will feature live entertainment, refreshments and activities for all ages, including tours of the new facility, which will give attendees a look at areas that will not be open to the public once the state-of-the-art, 83-bed hospital opens.

The event also will include appearances by Tampa Bay Lightning players and McGruff the Crime Dog, who will be helping with child fingerprinting. For kids, there will be a rock-climbing wall, an obstacle course and some large, inflatable slides.

New Hospital, New Jobs

At our press time, FHWC still had plenty of positions to fill. Experienced interested nurses and clinical staffers are encouraged to apply online at FHWC’s website, FHWesleyChapel.com/ Careers, but a hospital spokesperson

warns that most of these may be full by the time you are reading this.

Recently, FHWC hired its first three Board-certified obstetric and gynecological (ObGyn) doctors who will be providing services at the hospital once it opens in October. Annette Williams, MD, FACOG; Jennifer Roller, MD; and Tymesia Hudson, MD; will be available to provide women’s services at FHWC.

The hospital staff urges women who are expecting and have due dates after FHWC’s opening to begin registering to deliver in one of the eleven new elaborate labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms, each complete with its own relaxing whirlpool tubs and large, LCD TVs in each bathroom.

The new doctors also will work in FHWC’s full-service Women’s Center in the FHWC’s Wellness Plaza, the 100,000-sq.-ft. medical office building adjacent to the hospital and slated to open in early 2013. The Women’s Center will offer mammograms, ultrasounds, stereotactic biopsies, bone density tests and ObGyn checkups.
