When I was in my 30s and 40s, the only “cosmetic procedure” I would even consider having was a laser removal of a strawberry birthmark on my left cheek.
But now, in my early 50s, I have to admit that there are a lot of procedures available at the new Bella MedSpa, located next to Nutrition S’Mart on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. (just south of S.R. 56 and the Shops at Wiregrass mall), that I would be happy to check out (and many more services that I probably wouldn’t).
After all, even though people tell me I look younger than my age a lot, who wouldn’t want to have better skin, a flatter stomach, no love handles, more energy, or simply look and feel more like (or even better than) they did in their 20s and 30s?
I first visited the new Bella MedSpa during its recent Grand Opening and Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting at the new location (the original Bella location,which opened in 2005, was in the Summergate Professional Park behind Sam’s Club), hosted by Bella owners Yvette Suarez, M.D., and her husband and CEO David Singletary.

Dr. Suarez is an experienced physician who completed medical school in 2000 at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. She then completed a Residential program at the Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando Florida. Since her completion of residency; she worked for seven years as a Pediatric Emergency Physician in Tampa and for four years as an Urgent Care Physician and for six years as a Cosmetic Physician. Her passion has led her to pursue further specialties in Lipo Body Sculpting, Hormone Replacement Therapy, Laser Specialist and Vein Therapy. Dr. Suarez also is fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.

Despite my personal struggles with my weight, I still don’t believe I would ever consider liposuction or surgery. I already have high blood pressure and borderline high cholesterol and I know that losing more weight can help with those issues.
