One man is dead, and another, from Wesley Chapel, is in critical condition following a two-vehicle accident in northeast Zephyrhills.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), on April 25, Anthony James Roma, 22, of Wesley Chapel, was driving north in northeast Zephyrhills on Old Lakeland Hwy. with 28-year-old Timothy Jason Gordon-Magro, of Zephyrhills, in a 2001 BMW M3 just before 2 p.m.

The FHP report says Roma attemped to turn left onto U.S. Hwy. 98 and pulled out in front of a 2000 Dodge truck heading south on Old Lakeland Hwy., driven by Roger Otis Brass, 31, of Dade City. The front of Brass’ truck struck the passenger side of Roma’s BMW.

The report says that Gordon-Magro suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene and that Roma was transported to Lakeland Regional Hospital in critical condition, while Brass was transported to Florida Hospital Zephyrhills listed as in serious condition. FHP reports that seatbelts were worn and an alcohol test on Roma is pending. No further information was available at our press time.
