A man is in critical condition, following a shooting at a home in Wesley Chapel.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), around 9:20 p.m. on October 9, a 22-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, was shot at his home on Eastport Dr. in Wesley Chapel by an unknown suspect.

PCSO spokesman Doug Tobin says that the suspect approached the back porch of the home, took a shot and then fled the scene. Tobin says that PCSO deputies combed the neighborhood with both K-9 units and a search helicopter, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Tobin says that the victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries. Four people were home at the time of the shooting and a motive currently is unknown.
