The weekend of October 15-16 was a tough one for me. Not only was I on deadline with our most recent Wesley Chapel issue, I also had to try to attend and take pictures at two all-weekend events — the Arts & Crafts Under The Palms show and sale (see page 41) and the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce (WCCC)’s Fall Festival, held at The Grove shopping center.

Worst of all, you really couldn’t have picked a better weekend weather-wise, which made leaving those events to finish that issue even tougher.

The WCCC’s Fall Festival was bigger, better and better-attended this year than ever before! Saturday’s festivities again featured Wesley Chapel’s annual “Battle of the Wings,” where both of last year’s winners — The Oaks Restaurant at Lexington Oaks Golf Club and Santo’s Italian Grill — both retained their titles from last year. The Oaks again was this year’s favorite among a panel of nine judges (which included Pasco County commissioner Jack Mariano) and Santo’s again won “The People’s Choice” award.

Unfortunately, I had to leave the event early to go to press, and all of the results of the other contests — the Ronnie Setser’s Custom Car Show and Sunday’s “Pumpkin Patch Pageant” sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel — have not yet been posted on the web.

We will provide those updates and maybe more pics in our Nov. 19 Wesley Chapel Neighborhood News & on our website! — GN
