The New Tampa Family YMCA is mourning the loss of one of its own, as the organization’s youth sports coordinator recently was discovered deceased.
According to a statement from the YMCA (located on Compton Dr. in Tampa Palms), youth sports coordinator Charlie Bradley, III, was found unresponsive in his office on October 14. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.
Bradley began at the New Tampa YMCA in March of 2012 as a youth zone attendant and took on the job as youth sports coordinator in September of 2013.
Tampa Metropolitan YMCA spokesperson Lalita Llerena said that the YMCA staff remembers Charlie as a cherished employee who loved interacting with kids, coaches and members of the Y.
At our press time, Llerena said that the YMCA had not yet been contacted by the Medical Examiner’s Office with Bradley’s official cause of death.
