A woman is dead after being struck by two vehicles early on April 18, while standing in the middle of the road in Wesley Chapel.

According to the Florida High Patrol (FHP), 21-year-old Lacey Harrelson, of Odessa, was standing in the center lane of S.R. 54, about 200 feet east of Foggy Ridge Pkwy., wearing dark clothing.

At the same time, a 2008 Chevy Equinox driven by William Daiek, 57, of Land O’Lakes, and a 2010 Toyota Prius driven by William Nance, 26, of Port Richey, were traveling westbound on S.R. 54. Neither driver saw Harrelson with enough time to avoid a collision due to her dark clothing.

Harrelson died at the scene. The incident is under investigation and an alcohol test on the deceased is pending. No other info was available at our press time.
