Dog owners know the trials and troubles that come with taking their babies to a groomer. Between the loading, the unloading and the time spent in cages, the whole experience can be traumatic for you and your pet. But now, dog owners have a different option when it comes to grooming.

After five years of working at a traditional grooming salon, Julie Gentry decided it was time to go into business for herself. The end result for the Pittsburgh, PA-area native was Petsburgh Mobile Pet Salon, which provides on-site grooming services for dog owners (nail clipping is the only service provided for cats. Julie says she wanted to provide a more personal service for her customers by bring her mobile grooming van to her customers’ homes.

“It takes about a third of the time it takes to bring your dog to a grooming salon,” Julie says. “It is a lot more comfortable for the dogs, and more convenient for the customers.”

She adds that mobile grooming services are highly desirable to busy pet parents in a multitude of ways. The services are performed at the dog’s home, saving on driving and reducing separation anxiety. After an initial meeting between the groomer, the pet and the parent(s), grooming can be done even when the owner is at work! All the grooming vehicle needs is access to the dogs and a place to park, as no hook-ups or electricity from the home are used. Julie says, “It’s always nice for dog owners to have one less thing to worry about.”

Your dog will be groomed in the vehicle and then returned to his or her home. Petsburgh groomers will not keep your dog in a cage at any time. Clean, fresh, heated water is used for baths and the water is never recycled. Elderly and disabled pets are accommodated in every way possible.

Petsburgh is devoted to providing grooming services in a secure, enjoyable and stress free environment. And, Petsburgh offers reliability and a variety of different services. The salon offers a nice variety of grooming packages, depending upon the needs of the owner and the dog. Basic services always include a brush out, ear clean, toenail trim, optional tooth brushing, warm water bath, towel dry with a hand blow dry, another coat brushing and deodorizing, finished off with a cute bandana or a pretty bow.

Upgrades include full body haircuts, customized haircuts, blueberry facials with massage and even deep coat conditioning, among others.

Petsburgh Mobile Pet Salon provides outstanding services not only because of the company’s exceptional groomers, but also because of the mobile pet salon’s pet-friendly set-up.

Julie prides herself on treating every pet she meets as if it were her own and she is trained in all of the latest techniques. Pet owner and Petsburgh customer Suzanne Elliott says, “Julie loves my dogs as much as I do. My dogs are always excited to see her and she is always friendly, on time, follows up ahead of time to remind me of appointments and, most of all, she is the best groomer ever!”

Patty, another outstanding Petsburgh groomer, has more than 20 years of experience that began when she owned and operated a boarding kennel. She trains police dogs and shows English bulldogs. Julie says Patty is known for her excellent scissoring ability and Neighborhood News office manager Nikki Bennett raved about her beagle Dakota’s experience with Patty.

“The setup inside the salon is so convenient,” Nikki says. “And, Dakota was comfortable with Patty from the very beginning.”

Kris is a professional bather at Petsburgh who can transform even the dirtiest dog into the prettiest pooch. Like Julie and Patty, she provides loving attention to all of her newfound friends.

At Petsburgh, it really is all about the animals and the company strives to give to pets in need. The Petsburgh groomers often can be found at “yappy hours,” where all proceeds from nail trims or brush outs are given to local charities. Julie says that, “Sometimes, different apartment complexes or businesses will have their own yappy hours. It’s nice to do something nice and give money to charity.”
