At our press time, a bank robber was still at large in the New Tampa area. According to the Tampa Police Department (TPD), just after 3 p.m. on January 24, a 5’3”-5’4” black male in his early 20s, wearing a black ski mask, walked into the Pilot Bank (located at 17635 BBD), and demanded money at gunpoint.
TPD says the teller gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money, which was believed to contain a red dye pack. Police officials say that local businesses should be on the lookout for money with red dye on it.
No further information was available at out press time.
