cycling for vetsAttention New Tampa & Wesley Chapel-area cycling enthusiasts: if you love riding through natural settings and feel like doing so for a good cause, the New Tampa Noon Rotary Club has an event just for you.

At 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, the Noon Rotary will be hosting “Cycling for Vets,” a fund-raising ride through Flatwoods Wilderness Park (off the park’s Bruce B. Downs {BBD} Blvd. entrance, which is at the same traffic signal as Richmond Place Dr., south of Hunter’s Green) that will benefit four charities serving veterans and first responders: the Navy Seal Foundation, Operation Helping Hand, the Tampa Police Memorial Fund & the Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Foundation.

Whether a newcomer, novice or expert cyclist, this event has something for everyone, with your choice of rides measuring 4, 18 and 39 miles in length.

During the ride, Chili’s of New Tampa (located just south of the Flatwoods Park entrance on BBD) will be donating 10-percent of sales during the day back to the New Tampa Noon Rotary Club.

Registration for the event, which can be done at Active.com, closes on Friday, April 4. The cost to participate in any of the rides is $25 and other donations for the charities also will be accepted.
