For more than 100 years, Taylor Morrison has been building homes based on the principle that customers come first, and by helping to provide the American dream for families. In 2009, Builder magazine ranked Taylor Morrison as the no. 1 for-profit private builder and no. 13 among all U.S. builders. Also in 2009, AVID, a customer loyalty firm, awarded Taylor Morrison’s West Florida Division the honor of “Best Customer Experience.”
AVID surveys taken by Taylor Morrison customers consistently find that 95 percent of customers are satisfied and 95 percent also would recommend Taylor Morrison homes to a friend or family member. These honors come from listening to the customer and by building homes based on customer input.
Recent Taylor Morrison home buyer Ann Reynolds says, “I would absolutely recommend Taylor Morrison. They have really good customer service. They walk you through the entire process and they are open to concerns and questions. It’s been a great experience. The customer service is the best I have experienced, and the quality of their homes is really solid.”
Today, Taylor Morrison has more than 130 properties across the U.S., with the company’s headquarters in Phoenix, AZ. Locally, the West Florida Division runs from Tampa south to Naples and includes 25 communities.
Here in our area, Taylor Morrison in Tuscany purchased 77 nature-centered home sites in Tampa Palms. All but a few of the planned home sites in Tuscany at Tampa Palms back up to water, conservation or both. Home owners get to enjoy the beauty of their backyards with the indoor/outdoor feeling that the floorplans provide.
Many of the homes in Tuscany are planned for the person who really enjoys the Tampa Palms community but is looking for a beautiful, but smaller house.
“Our goal was to come here and target the buyer who wanted to downsize, but wanted to stay in Tampa Palms,” says Cammie Longénecker, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison.
Most home sites in Tuscany are 40 feet wide, with homes built on those sites about 30 feet wide. All of the Taylor Morrison homes in Tuscany are specifically designed to give the feeling of an open, spacious floorplan without the very large size. The builder is offering five designed floorplans, with some of the layouts having different options for room layouts. Houses start at $189,900 for a 1,435-sq.-ft. two-bedroom, two-bath homes (with den and two-car garage) and go up from there.
All Tuscany at Tampa Palms homes are nestled in quiet cul-de-sacs and the community is the only new build site in Tampa Palms that offers gated security.
Taylor Morrison’s motto of “luxurious homes inspired by you” can truly be realized by all of the design options that new buyers can choose from in Tuscany. To some, designing their own home from the ground up could be an overwhelming undertaking, but Taylor Morrison is always there to help. The company has a 5,000-sq.-ft. design center in Brandon with professional decorators there to assist new buyers. Features that can be included in your new home include many energy efficient options, gourmet kitchens, stunning bathrooms and more.
For those who need to move in quickly, Tuscany at Tampa Palms does have showcase houses and models that are move-in ready. Benefits to buying a new home by Taylor Morrison versus a foreclosure include a one year warranty, the fact that new homes cost less to insure, peace of mind, energy efficiency and, of course, everything in the home is new.
Taylor Morrison chose to buy and build in Tampa Palms for several reasons, but Longénecker says the biggest reason is the community itself.
“Tampa Palms is one of the premier master-planned communities in the area,” she says. “It is near the (H. Lee) Moffit Cancer Center and USF, and the location is established, and (has) a lot of stability.”
One of the intrinsic values the company wanted for the Tuscany site was for owners to maintain the type of active lifestyle that the Tampa Palms area can provide. Tuscany at Tampa Palms home owners can take advantage of Taylor Morrison’s partnership with Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club, where home owners can enjoy a free 30 day trial membership. Also nearby is the New Tampa Family YMCA, which Taylor Morrison sponsors.
“The YMCA is within walking distance, the country club is nearby (less than 3 miles, without having to drive on Bruce B Downs (BBD) and there is a lot of shopping very close by,” says Reynolds, “It’s a real plus to live near professional businesses.”
Each quarter, the Taylor Morrison’s Outreach program helps out in a charitable act. In August, the West Florida Division supported Homes for Our Troops to build a specially designed home for retired Army Staff Sergeant Juan Roland and his family in Parrish, FL. All materials and time were donated by home builders. In December 2006, Sgt. Roland’s vehicle was involved in an explosion in Iraq. He suffered multiple injuries, including the amputation of both of his legs, as well as brain trauma.
“I am proud to work for a company that does what they do to benefit the customer,” says Katy Walker, Taylor Morrison’s marketing manager.
