awardsIt’s that time of year, time for the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce (WCCC) to name the year’s best nominated local businesses for its annual “Celebrating Excellence In Business” awards banquet, which will be held on Thursday, September 10, at Saddlebrook Resort & Spa off S.R. 54.

Each year the WCCC celebrates the extraordinary things local community members, businesses and organizations have done in the Greater Wesley Chapel/New Tampa business community.

Five major awards will be presented at that event — Large & Small Business of the Year (the New Tampa & Wesley Chapel Neighborhood News won last year’s Small Business honors), Business Leader of the Year, plus Non-Profit of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. Tickets are still available for the banquet and the cost to attend is $55, or $450 for a corporate table of eight, which also includes  your company’s logo displayed on the table.

Last year, the Neighborhood News was honored to be named “Small Business of the Year.” This year, four other companies will compete for the prestigious award, including Cloud 9 Studios, The Laker/Lutz News, Pure Health & Fitness Studios and RP&G Printing.

“Large Business of the Year” will go to either Nutrition S’Mart, Standard Pacific Homes or Wesley Chapel Nissan. Last year, the award went to Parks Motor Group.

“Business Leader of the Year” could go to either the Porter Family (which owns Wiregrass Ranch), John & David Williams of Wesley Chapel Toyota or Mark Perryman of Wesley Chapel Nissan. Last year, it went to Dr. Stanley Giannet, provost of the Pasco-Hernando State College Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch.

This year’s event is presented by Parks Ford of Wesley Chapel, and sponsored by The Shops at Wiregrass and the Tampa Bay Times.

Congratulations to this year’s nominees!
