It’s been three years since the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce (WCCC) has hosted a Health & Wellness Festival at The Grove shopping plaza off S.R. 54 at I-75, but WCCC marketing director Christine Hope says the event was much better-received this time around.

“We know we made some mistakes three years ago,” says Hope. “But, even though we had much more positive feedback (from attendees and exhibitors alike) this time, we’re still going to listen to suggestions about how to keep making it better.”

Held only two months after the Chamber’s annual Awards Banquet and only a month after the WCCC’s rousing Fall Festival success, this year’s Health & Wellness Festival featured more than 80 sponsors, exhibitors and business partners, and although there were no hard numbers of attendees available (there was no admission cost or turnstiles) afterward, I personally estimated the crowd at maybe close to 2,000 in attendance, including everyone on hand to showcase their health, wellness, fitness and/or nutrition-oriented businesses , as well as those who came to see the outstanding local entertainment.

Although those numbers seem to be significantly better than three years ago, Hope says a number of the exhibitors told her they would prefer to stage the event on a Saturday, instead of a Sunday. I also suggested a possible move to another part of the year, like maybe shortly after the first of the new year, when most people are at their most health-conscious.
