I can’t even come up with the words to describe how perfect the first day of the two-day Wesley Chapel Fall Festival at The Grove shopping center was and, unfortunately, I had to go to press with this issue before the second day.

All I can tell you is that the Festival was soooo much bigger, better and better-attended this year than ever before!

Plus, the weather on Saturday may not have been a perfect beach day (it was cool, with low humidity and stayed overcast but never rained), but it was the most perfect weather I can remember for any outdoor festival in Florida.

Saturday again featured Wesley Chapel’s annual “Battle of the Wings,” where both of last year’s winners — the judges’ favorite, The Oaks Restaurant at Lexington Oaks Golf Club and Santo’s Italian Grill both retained their titles from last year, as The Oaks again was this year’s favorite among a panel of nine judges (which included Pasco County commissioner Jack Mariano) and Santo’s again won “The People’s Choice” award.

Unfortunately, I had to leave the event early to go to press, so I don’t know which vehicles won awards at the Ronnie Setser’s Custom Car Show or which kids won Sunday’s “Pumpkin Patch Pageant” sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel.

We will provide those updates and maybe more pics in our next issue!
