Just months after the completion of the Northwood Palms Blvd. extension to S.R. 56 in Wesley Chapel, construction is under way on a new luxury apartment complex at the busy intersection.

Spanos Construction, which already has built several communities in the New Tampa and Wesley Chapel area, including the Park Del Mar apartments on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., Arlington at Northwood (adjacent to Bonterra) and Delano at Cypress Creek (also off S.R. 56) and others.

Hardy Gillespie, Florida division manager for A.G. Spanos, says that the 20-acre complex will feature 264 units spread between five four-story buildings. Bonterra Parc will offer four different floor plans for one, two or three bedrooms, ranging from 700-1,300 sq. ft. The community is geared toward all ages, Gillespie says.

“Bonterra will have an elevator in each building, which will really set us apart from other similar complexes in the area,” Gillespie explains. “The elevators are a big thing (for people who prefer being on higher floors, whether for the view or for safety reasons). Plus, the location is excellent. We’re right between the interstate and the Shops at Wiregrass mall.”

Other amenities that Bonterra will feature include granite countertops in each kitchen, upgraded stainless steel appliances, vinyl plank flooring and carpets in each bedroom, nine-foot ceilings with crown molding, with patios or balconies in most units.

The complex itself, which is being constructed around what Gillespie calls “eyeball wetlands” (or small conservation areas) will offer residents remote-controlled access, an outdoor pavilion structure with a full kitchen, a pool and cabana with kitchen for grilling and, of course, a clubhouse — equipped with a 24-hour gym, a Cyber Café and resident business center with fax, copier, Internet access and conference space.
