OK, so here’s an update on what’s been happening on “The Voice” since I first told you about Wesley Chapel’s own budding indie/alt music artist Brooke Adee.
Brooke has now advanced through the “battle” and “knockout” rounds on the hit NBC-TV show and was one of the 20 artists (1 of the 5 on the team of country music star Blake Shelton) still alive as we went to press with this issue.
It just so happens that another member of the same Wesley Chapel (noon) Rotary Club (see below) that I belong to has an even bigger rooting interest in Brooke than the rest of us, as Rotarian Victoria Henrich’s daughter Brittany is good friends with Brooke. Henrich says it was “a great sign” to their many friends in their neighborhood that Brooke and her family were still in Los Angeles as we went to press.
Victoria says she will try to get Brooke’s mom to do an interview with us, but as I mentioned in our last issue, my hope is that this local “voice” will continue to advance through the “Live Shows” round so that perhaps we can begin hosting some impromptu “The Voice” watch parties at different restaurants in the Wesley Chapel area — including City Grill in the Village Market plaza, which currently is hosting “The Real Voice of Wesley Chapel, A Karaoke Contest” as you’re reading this.
