Better days ahead for Wiregrass Ranch football team

One starting running back went down for the season with an injury during the summer, while the other scored three touchdowns against Wesley Chapel and got hurt the next week. Then, the quarterback, two offensive lineman, two defensive ends, one wide receiver, and a linebacker soon were hobbling off as well.

By the time the third week of the season was over for the District 7A-8 Wiregrass Ranch High (WRH) football team, head coach Mark Kantor’s depth chart was seemingly held together by scotch tape and glue and a batch of young sophomores who were called on to mature quickly.

ā€˜Trick’s Kicks’ To Hold Golf Tournament Saturday

trickskicks2In memory of Hunter’s Green resident Patrick Strom, the second annual ā€œTrick’s Kicks Golf Tournamentā€ will again be held at Heritage Isles Country Club (located at 10630 Plantation Bay Dr. off Cross Creek Blvd.) on Saturday, October 17. Ninth Annual Tampa Fisher House Golf Classic Returns Oct. 30

For the ninth consecutive year, Arbor Greene resident and New Tampa Noon Rotary Club president Valerie Casey is putting on a charity golf tournament to benefit the Tampa Fisher House, the residence on the campus of the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital on Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd. (south of E.
