Construction has been steadily increasing along Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd. in New Tampa between E. Bearss Ave. and Palm Springs Blvd. in Tampa Palms (also known as BBD “Segment A”) during the past several months. However, the intersection of BBD and E. Not Many Improvements Planned For Morris Bridge Rd.

Although the River Landings and Two Rivers developments (above) will bring thousands more homes and vehicles to Morris Bridge Rd., there currently are no plans to widen the road through 2040 in either Pasco or Hillsborough County.

Traveling south on Morris Bridge Rd. from S.R. 54, it’s hard to imagine that there are thousands of homes planned for developments on both sides of the two-lane road (both north and south of the Pasco County line) that currently looks out over mostly rural and agricultural land. However, even with a massive amount of development on the horizon, there aren’t many improvements in Pasco County’s long-range transportation plan for the road that connects Wesley Chapel and Temple Terrace.

BBD ‘Segment A’ Widening Meeting Draws Crowd At Tampa Palms Elementary

Murmurs of voices and footsteps echo through the cafeteria of Tampa Palms Elementary. However, these aren’t the high-pitched voices and giggles of children during their lunch period at the school. Instead, the cafeteria this day is packed with local residents, eager to find out what the next segment of Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd. widening will mean for traffic around their neighborhood.
