“The problem is that the products the legislature really wants to ban are the synthetic Delta products,” Debra says. “They also want to reduce the legal amount of THC from 0.3% to a lower amount in all CBD products. Battling with anxiety and not quite sure what to do while driving up Bruce B. Downs (BBD) Blvd., Alex Colley was looking for a sign.

Little did he know that sign would quite literally be the one that David Curler, the co-owner of Your CBD Store of New Tampa, was twirling on the side of BBD.

“David was out there spinning the sign, and it said ‘Free CBD Samples, Come On In,’” Alex says. “I had seen him out there before and didn’t think anything, but I’ve had anxiety for a long time, and I literally was driving by as I was having a panic attack. And I was like, ‘I guess that’s my sign, right? Like, literally, there’s my sign to go in.’”

Alex went in and David gave him a sample that immediately calmed him down, and Alex has been a regular now for four months. “David is my CBD doctor,” he says, chuckling.

New Products Give Your CBD Store Something For Everyone

On a sunny Saturday afternoon, Debra and David Curler are taking turns handling customers at their Your CBD Store of New Tampa in the Pebble Creek Collection.

Debra takes the first customer, who is looking for something to handle her stress but won’t make her sleepy. Meanwhile, David helps a guy looking for Delta 8 vapes, hoping they can help him relax.

They each spend about 15 minutes with their respective customers, answering more than a handful of questions, making a few recommendations and offering a few samples to go along with their purchases.

“It’s all about customer service,” David says, proudly, before joking that sometimes he might hand out too many samples. “We want them to try it and see what works for them,” he says. “Everyone is different.”

“It’s great for relaxation and to help you sleep at night, so it’s pretty awesome,” Debra says. “And it comes in edibles, gummies, water solubles, vapes…people just love it.”

CBD is related to tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, the active ingredient in marijuana that produces the “high.”

Delta 9 can get you high and produce psychoactive effects, but does not require a medical marijuana card. The difference between Delta 9 and Delta 8 is just one particular chemical bond appearing on the eighth carbon molecule instead of the ninth.

The different chemical configuration makes Delta 8 less potent, and has been reported to provide users with a smoother “high” without the anxiety and paranoia associated with Delta 9. It has nearly the same positive effects of Delta 9, but fewer of the negative effects.

“Delta 8 was a big deal last year and really brought more people in to check us out,” Lisa says, adding that some of her customers have told her using Delta 8 has provided them with “the best sleep of their lives.”
